بدأت الحكاية بفضول طفل. رجع والدي البيت في يوم من الأيام ومعه جهاز ما شفت مثله، وجلس يركّبه أمامي على مهل: شاشة صغيرة تشبه التلفزيون، وتحتها صندوق، وبجانبها ماوس وكيبورد. كان أول كمبيوتر في حياتي. صار الماوس والكيبورد مفاتيحي لهذا العالم، كل ضغطة تفتح صفحة، وكل حرف يفتح باب. ومن يومها لقيت شغفي.
ما درست هندسة الحاسب، تعلّمت البرمجة بنفسي. ومن ذاك الوقت وأنا أحاول أخلّي التقنية تخدم الناس وتسهّل عليهم حياتهم. بنيت أكثر من شركة ناشئة، تيك زيلا وتاب مي وكلم أكرم، وبعدها وتير وفندإكس. تغيّرت الأفكار والأسواق، وبقي دوري نفسه في كل مرة: أبني التقنية اللي تخدم المشروع.
أما دراستي فكانت في القانون. أخذت البكالوريوس من جامعة الملك عبدالعزيز وكنت أشتغل في السوق وأنا أدرس، وبعدها الماجستير في القانون الرقمي. وبين الكود وقاعات الدراسة والسوق، صرت أشوف التقنية والقانون والحياة بعين واحدة. واليوم أبني بنفس فضول ذاك الطفل، ومعي 15 سنة من التجارب.
It started with a child's curiosity. One day my father came home with a machine I had never seen, and sat assembling it in front of me, slowly: a small screen like a TV, a box underneath, and a mouse and keyboard in front of it. It was the first computer of my life. The mouse and the keyboard were my keys to that world: every click opened a page, and every keystroke opened a door. From that day on, I knew what I loved.
I never studied computer engineering; I taught myself to code. Ever since, I've tried to make technology serve people and make their lives easier. I've built more than one startup, Techzilla, TapMe and Klm Akram, then Wateer and Vendx. The ideas and markets changed, and my role stayed the same every time: build the technology that serves the venture.
My studies were in law. I earned a bachelor's from King Abdulaziz University while working in the market, then a master's in digital law. Between code, classrooms, and the market, I came to see technology, law, and life through one lens. Today I build with the same curiosity as that child, plus 15 years of experience.
